C’mon N’ Ride the Sushi Train…and Ride It!

The Epoch sushi train is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a toy model of the Japan Rail bullet train (the high speed train that goes like 1 million miles per hour) converted to become the ultimate sushi delivery system for kids 3 and older.

If you don’t feel comfortable putting real raw fish on the train feel free to use the accompanying 12 pieces of plastic sushi (you get all your favorites like fatty tuna, tuna, salmon, etc…sorry no California rolls). Pictures don’t do it justice so the videos below will give you a better idea of all the fun you’ll have with the Sushi Train. First up.

This is the commercial they air in Japan (warning! it’s in Japanese).

As you can see the Epoch Sushi Train is fun for the whole family including Fluffy the cat (not sure what kind of food they were feeding their cat). To get a better feel for the train below is a longer video showing the finer details for the Sushi Train (warning! again it’s in Japanese).

As much fun as the Sushi Train is, we brainstormed and came up with some potential users for the Sushi Train.

Potential Other Uses for the Sushi Train:

  • Lazy Man’s Salt and Pepper Passer. Too lazy to reach across the table to hand someone the salt or pepper? Place it on the train and deliver it.
  • Fondue Parties. Create a circular track, place the cheese in the center, and have the train carry bread to all the guests. Now that’s a fondue party I would go to.
  • The Bullet Train Drinking Game. Place the track in a straight line. On top of the train line up shot glasses and fill with your favorite alcoholic beverages. Have people line up along the track. As the train passes by each person grabs one shot glass and drinks. When train gets to the other end someone refills as fast as possible and then train goes back the way it came. Players drink again. Repeat until their is only one person standing. Not recommended for children.

  • Functional: 3/5 (it’s more a toy than practical delivery vehicle)
  • Fashionable: 4/5 (it’s a Sushi Train! That’s pretty cool)

Would you ride the sushi train?

  • 8 straight rail pieces
  • 8 curved rail pieces
  • Create a circular track which is 50 cm x 110 cm (approx 1.6 feet by 3.6 feet)
  • Create a straight track up to 228 cm (7.5 feet)
