The Best Wireless Media Player Out There?
It’s true that the Chumby has not taken off as much as those have hoped. The fact is, with some minor changes, it could be the best, if not the sleekest wireless media player in the market. This is a lustrous media player that doubles as TV, alarm clock, news/stock/gossip outlet, electronic photo display, fashion statement and my personal favorites:
A uninterrupted streaming music player and streaming music video device.
It works with Pandora, an online music streaming website that plays music non-stop, adjusting to users taste in music. You can develop your own applications and widgets to use specifically on this device. It hasn’t blown up quite as big as the IPod community, and I doubt it will, but nevertheless, there’s huge potential.
Although the touch screen has been compared to the iTouch, the large screen outdoes the iTouch easily.
Custom designs for the Chumby can be costly, but could be stylish if done in a tasteful way. Personally, the Chumby Latte and Chumby Pearl designs are chic enough for me.
Don’t you hate how MTV doesn’t play music videos these days and fills it with garbage reality TV shows. With new partnerships with companies like AVOT, streaming music videos or music non stop at your next BBQ is no problem.
You’ve all seen those digital photo frames, for around the same price as some of them, you can have a shitload more functionality. I just wish they had more widgets designed for this device like the IPod, but it’s just a matter of time when that does happen. In the meantime, using it as an alarm clock, streaming music/movie device for social gathers and a general bathroom/bedroom accessory is good enough for me.
