FFPI #3: GPS Wedding Bands-Lojack for Spouses
Rings and jewelry in general for decorative purposes are all cool and all, but to be honest they are kind of boring cause besides “looking good” they don’t really do anything. I like stuff like bracelets that turn into ropes. So I decided to turn my creative juices onto the traditional wedding band.
Wedding bands are supposed to symbolize the bond and unity between a husband and wife (or wife/wife or husband/husband depending on where you live). When worn they also serve as a “stay away” sign for outsiders who might be interested in courting that particular person. Sure you can get different materials that the band can be made of (platinum, gold, diamond, etc…), but otherwise there’s not much other function for the traditional wedding band.

I’ve come up with an idea that not only would be functional, but also would be of interest to couples who have pledged eternity to each other through sickness and in health: wedding bands with embedded gps chips that allow you to track exactly where your spouse is.

How would it work?
After purchasing your gps enabled rings you would activate them and then punch in their unique ID’s into a centralized server. This is what matches the ring owner and ring to its location on the map. After the pairing process has been completed now you are ready to track your spouse wherever he or she may be.
How do you track?
You could use google maps, a dedicated tracking device, etc…
What’s great about this product?

- Track how long as a couple you spend together or apart down to the exact minute
- If your spouse ever goes missing you can find them quickly
- Find your ring in no time if you misplace it
- No more wasted minutes asking “where are you?” If you want to know just check
What do you think?
