Acronym GT-J14 Jacket: Stylish, Functional, Expensive!
Here is the Acronym GT-J14 jacket. While it may look like just another stylish black jacket there are some interesting features bult into it. Here are some of our favorite things about this jacket:
- Magnets around the neck so you can attach your earphone buds too
- Removable logo – in case you want to “debadge” your clothes
- A fast access gravity pocket

That last feature might have you scratching your heads…a gravity pocket? It’s a pocket located on the sleeve of the arm that you can access via a normal zipper on the forearm or from the inside via a quick release draw string. It’s like something out of Batman. Check out the demonstration.
Actually, after watching this video clip I feel like the Acronym jacket’s gravity pocket was inspired by the jacket and “gravity pocket” Robert Deniro had in the movie Taxi Driver. Watch…the similarities are uncanny.
Sure it might not be THAT useful, but you definitely have to give coolness points. I mean you could put all kinds of things and drop them into your hand at a moment’s notice…things like knives, small pistols, pens, or even condoms!
Overall, sure this jacket doesn’t have solar charging capabilities nor is it bullet proof, but you have to hand it to them to making a slick looking jacket. Acronym’s website highlights the mantra for the clothes they design:
ACRONYM® was founded in 1994 by Michaela Sachenbacher and Errolson Hugh as an independent design agency with a focus on the unification of style and technology in apparel.
Style and technology…that sounds like someone we know…(hint…FuncFash = Functional and Fashionable). Unfortunately there’s a high price for this slick jacket…around $1000. Yup. high fashion and technology don’t come cheap.
If FuncFash were to make clothes we definitely would want to make clothes like the guys at Acronym are doing.
FuncFash-ness: 9/10
- Functional: 3.5/5 (points for thinking outside the box, removable logos and gravity pocket)
- Fashionable: 5/5 (Armani ain’t got nothing on Acronym)
