It’s not exactly the newest product, but Survival Straps bracelets ranks high on my list of jewelry I would actually wear.  I find jewelry pretty boring.  It’s great if you want to make a fashion statement, but I want my jewelry to do something (like hold 8 gb of data).  Thanks to Survival Straps now I can wear a trendy looking bracelet that can also unravel to become a 16 foot rope.  This is not any kind of rope either.  This is 550 military grade parachute cord rope (550 “paracord”)–Rope that is light and can hold up to 550 lbs of tension…enough to pull a truck (see video below skip to 2:59).

You might be thinking, how useful could rope be?  I know from my experience rope is one of those things that you never think about until you end up needing it and of course when that happens you never any on hand.

• Restraining bad guys.  Someone breaks into your house, you subdue them, but you need to go call for help…tie them up with the bracelet rope
