Ice Cream Ball: Shake and Make Your Own Ice Cream

Industrial Revolution has created a ball shaped product, the Play and Freeze Mega Ice Cream Ball, that allows you to make your own ice cream without any tools and without freezing it yourself and having to wait hours to enjoy your tasty treat. Thanks to their “ice cream ball” technology it only takes10 minutes of shaking, rolling, playing catch, etc… to create your very own signature ice cream.

The video below explains how the homemade ice cream magic happens.

Fun for the whole family...

Basically all that you need to do is pour ice in one end (along with rock salt) of the ball, in the other end pour in your ice cream ingredients, and then shake/rattle/roll the ice cream ball. 10 minutes later you are feasting on your creation. It’s pretty magical.

It comes in different colors and looks like a hamster ball. But I don’t think your average hamster ball can create frozen treats.

With something like this you could create your own Viagra ice cream or Pepto-Bismol ice cream…in less than 10 minutes!

The Sex Pistol Viagra Ice Cream: Get Excited, Get Fat Too

It’s exactly what the title suggests, ice cream partly made with Viagra. However, as cool as it sounds it’s not really true. The Icecreamists, the London boutique ice cream shop that invented the concoction, uses the name Viagra loosely. It would be cool if it was true, but alas it’s just clever marketing, but all is not lost.

The so-called Viagra ice cream is actually called “The Sex Pistol” and its ingredients include natural herbal supplements like ginko, biloba, arginine, and guarana all of which are said to naturally boost your sex drive. Apparently these ingredients combined form the Viagra part of their description as listed on their website as “Viagra and Absinthe Ice Cream served with a shot of Absinthe in a pink water pistol.” Oh that’s right, they serve this ice cream with a shot of Absinthe…that you take from pink water pistol. For £11.99 (or around $20 bucks) you can order The Sex Pistol and accompanying pink pistol shot, but only if you are over 18 years of age.

While I’m a little disappointed the Sex Pistol is not made of real Viagra I give props to the Icecreamists for branding and creating a whole new kind of ice cream shop…an edgier more adult geared ice cream shop (proof, below is a screen shot from their website).

Believe it or not I don’t like ice cream that much, but I definitely would be willing to check out the Icecreamists. They make Baskin-Robbins, Cold Stone Creamery, Dairy Queen, look boring and plain. Why would I want Rocky Road when I can have the God Save the Queen Cryogenic Cocktail? “A reverse flambee signature cocktail handcrafted at your table and served at a blisteringly cool -196 degrees.” Sign me up!

It doesn’t trump the recently profiled Pepto-Bismol hangover ice cream (which was made with real Pepto-Bismol), but the Icecreamist does get many many cool and style points. Perhaps one day there will be real Viagra ice cream, but until then I guess I got to go to London to get the next closest thing.

FFPI #2: Blogjam’s Pepto-Bismol Hangover Ice Cream

Many people swear by the hangover curing abilities of Pepto-Bismol, the over-the-counter medicine normally used for relieving upset stomachs. Other people like home hangover remedies like Ice Cream (something which I didn’t even know could help hangovers). While other people decide to combine both Pepto and icre cream to make the ultimate hangover medicine / frozen treat. Actually it’s only one person that I know who has done this. He calls it Pepto-Bismol Ice Cream.

This is an idea and prototype created by Blogjam. His post is definitely worth reading and docments the process and thought that went into the creation of his functional hangover curing ice cream. Hillarious is his emails between Pepto-Bismol company representatives on whether it was safe or not to freeze their medicine.

His email:

I am a long-time user of Pepto-Bismol. I like the fact that it is extremely pink, and find it very useful for coping with alcohol-induced bouts of digestive trauma.

But can you cook with Pepto-Bismol? I am thinking of making some Pepto-Bismol ice-cream, and want to know if there are any dangers involved.

Pepto-Bismol’s response:

Hello and thanks for your e mail.

Pepto-Bismol is a strictly controlled medicine and should only used as a remedy to relieve the symptoms of an upset stomach.

Hopefully with the success of his prototype we’ll soon see Vanilla Pepto-Bismol Ice Cream right next to Ben and Jerry’s Chunky Monkey. This could be especially useful if you are using any of these concealable flasks.
